Go4 Passive Units
The concept of vehicle fleet management systems is not new, and many organizations have, over the years, considered these types of systems for their own use. However many of the systems available on the market today are “Real Time” tracking solutions, that although effective, are prohibitive to many organizations due to the high capital outlay required, and of course the expensive ongoing monthly network costs.
You choose. How often do you need to see the data – is viewing the data throughout the day a useful business tool or is it simply a novelty?
GeoTab customers are serious about their business but they realize that unless their organization runs its fleet in a “Dispatch Environment” then the GeoTab RF solution is the perfect fit. Why pay the ongoing monthly cellular network fees for a LIVE system if your organization does not require it?
GO4v3 Passive RF or WiFi:
- It is not a real time system yet it offers 90% of the features (and some features that real time systems don’t have) with NO monthly or ongoing costs.
The GeoTab Checkmate software provides high resolution data and compares and analyzes individual GPS tracking events each second, recording data as vehicles and drivers turn, stop, accelerate and brake. The GeoTab GO In-vehicle GPS Tracker unit can store up to 1 month’s worth of trip data before the in-vehicle memory is full, allowing plenty of time and opportunity for the data to be downloaded via RF connection to your computer database for reporting.
- GO RF is a flat fee platform. There are NO ongoing monthly communication fees.
Another benefit is that you can start with GO RF to discover the immediate savings in fuel, administration and risk loss control. If you later find that parts of your business do require a GO LIVE solution, you can easily upgrade one or all of your GO RF units to a GO LIVE solution by simply having Global Resource Group add a GSM cellular modem to your existing units.
How it works:
Data is downloaded from the GO RF GPS Tracker unit in vehicle to a 900 MHz Digital Spread Spectrum base station. Internal antennas generally work well for vehicles that park up to 100m from a building while external antennas can be installed for 300m range. The 900 MHz solution provides wireless data transfer to your central computer database where the data is made available to multi-users across your network.
